☝️ I am on H1B visa. I have talked to a few attorneys and getting conflicting answers. BAL attorney says should be fine, talked to two attorneys outside, one of them told me it’s fine the other one told me it’s not. I don’t know what to do 🤪 Has anyone actually taken 3 weeks of gap ?
🙄
3 weeks is fine on H1-B as well
Are you sure? Please confirm, thanks in advance
Do you trust ppl on blind ? Or trust your lawyers
You can have so many days in between jobs for H1B. Just find out exact number of days.
60 days, last time I checked
Yes. I did because I was relocating. I have a lot of friends who took 2-4 weeks between jobs. Another friend, got laid off and didn't start for over 2 months. He had his offer letter and H1B transfer done but because of Christmas, his joining was later.
Thanks a lot man. 🙏 Can you confirm how many weeks you and your friends took ? And the break was taken after you voluntarily quit right ? Because I heard it’s okay to use the grace period after you are laid off/fired. I am pretty sure that wasn’t the case for you but just wanted to confirm And it didn’t cause any issue later (with entry or visa stamping right ?)
60 days is applicable even if you quit voluntarily.
60 days as many people have pointed out, but I’d not take a long gap unless necessary.
Why not, clarify please
AFAIK it eats into your 60 days. But what if you involuntarily find yourself out if a job in the future? You’re going to wish you had those days to look for a job.
It resets with each employer. So I will get the whole 60 days after I move to the new company
Oh I had no idea. I might take a good ol’ break myself when the time comes then.
Does this have to do with immigration? You can take as big of a break as you want. If u are on a TN visa u need to go back to Canada or mexico and re enter the country.
I am on H1B visa. Can I take 3 weeks of break in the US ?
I'm not sure about that actually.
