I had been a voracious reader in my childhood. My spectrum was quite broad all the way from editorials in newspapers to fiction/non-fiction. Nowadays, I always turn to video medium. i am concerned whether this might be something larger like ADHD. any suggestions on how I can get back to reading habit?
Do you have a fire place? Turn it on and grab a nice cup of tea/coffee then get at it! I looove doing this :)
Get a kindle. Kindle app on iPad is awesome, but there are many distractions. Kindle physical device is all about reading.
Yes but you will miss that smell of books and the 'slurp' of turning pages
But you will read. When I got my Kindle my reading went back up the the rate I read when i was still in school. It doesn’t smell like paper. Okay, but it also works in the pool, it takes less space in my carryon, it syncs between multiple devices, it keeps my room way more tidy.... does basically everything better than physical books as far as I’m concerned.
Audiobooks also reading online reliable source articles consider as reading. The key is to enjoy what you read. Forcing yourself to read a paperbook fiction you don't have any interest is waste of time and brain energy.
Goodreads recommends books based on what you have read and your interests. Or go to the library regularly or join a book group.
Same - I don't think reading books is superior to movies or reading short articles on the net.
Join a book club or start one at your workplace or elsewhere. Also, listen to audiobooks on your way to work
You need to meditate. Too much stress in your life perhaps. Signs of a restless mind.
In the same boat dude. I cut out on twitter and reading articles online. Force myself to read physical books instead.
