Have things changed at Uber since beginning of year?

I'm just curious if any Uber employees would comment on how things have changed since the big upset. Is there any noticeable changes in the work environment?

Incredible turnaround, majority of people are serious about change and you can see it, strong optimism from people I interact with, in general things are getting better in my eyes. I am eng

Great! Any steps towards providing liquidity to rank and file engineers?

I'm not sure optimism is the word I'll use to describe the people I interact with... But yes change have started, I'm just not sure where it's gonna lead us

It's been wonderful. We still have a lot to do, but it's clear that everyone is committed.

Great focus on improvements. May be a little early to say what the results will be, but nearly everyone is working really hard to make Uber a great place to be.

How is it for women?

Uber Sight Sep 3, 2017

I have been with the company since last October. I have only seen women at Uber treated with dignity and respect. That doesn’t mean that it is their entire experience, but there has never been blatant open sexism institutionalized as far as I can tell. There is a lot of focus on increasing diversity in eng, and a LadyEng group to specifically support women in engineering and address their needs.

Okay, doesn't sound too bad 😮 thanks! Are you an engineer?

I haven't finished my 6 months here as yet (don't ask why I decided to join)... but I do feel super positive. I strongly believe that the company is invested in making things right. Being a woman, I have never felt that people around me are discriminating. I really like people in my team and believe that each and every one of us is invested in building great products. The only reason Uber will survive all the turmoil is because it cares enough to do something about it.
