Help: Moving to Bay Area

1. Planning to move to BA in the near future. Wife got a new job in BA. 2. Was thinking of switching companies for TC $$ too. 3. F5 has two offices in Bay Area (San Jose and San Francisco). But, now, I'm confused between two options in the poll. Which option is better? Note: My team has a counterpart in San Jose. Should be an easy move. For San Francisco, have to move to a different Business Unit. Shouldn't be that hard.

For folks choosing - interview for a new role in BA and then relocate. Why is it better than moving through my existing company and then interviewing?

Not bad ! So you are considering moving to BA just for TC bump? Isnโ€™t that an option in SEA ? Heard there are few companies in SEA literally throwing $$$ to lure folks from F5 (Assuming you are currently in SEA)

Does your company have a repayment clause if they pay for your relocation? That's often at least a year

Not sure if they have that. If I get a better job, repaying that should be okay. I don't think F5 offers a huge relocation benefit.

If the new company really likes you, you may be able to get them to bump up your starting bonus by the repayment amount

Curious on why you feel 2 is better than 1. I'm super confused between the two.

Out of curiosity, what level are you at right now with a TC of 245?
