Looking for help to evaluate an offer from Google for an L5 PM role based in London. 10 YOE. Based in US currently, this would be a relo. Base: £94.5k (~$125k) Target bonus: 15% RSUs: £142k/4 ($189k/4) TC: £144k ($191k) No competing offers currently, and haven't negotiated yet. How does this offer seem for London? In my response, how much more can I reasonably ask for base vs. RSUs? And if I was to ask for a different US-based location (like Boston), how much more could I expect in TC if any? Thanks.
Looks good. Using my mental model heuristic of 25-30% lower market rate for the UK labour market and a historical exchange rate of ~£1.6 per $. The equivalent US comp is ~$300-330k - aka market rate.
How many years of experience?
10 YOE overall, in related areas but not directly in the same space
What’s TC?
TC = Total compensation
That’s some nice London offer indeed. Remember free pre-k and kindergardens of some decent quality as well as good schools. If you have 2 or more kids - you will be great there. If you have no kids, then you might save more in the US, especially if you don’t rent where you live now.
Thanks. No kids, just me and spouse. Still trying to figure out if we want to make the move to try living somewhere else for a bit. Appreciate the feedback!
