Here’s how who is gaming the H1B

if you check international students % in US and then H1B, it’ll be clear whats the cause of this GC backlog. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/11/06/us/outsourcing-companies-dominate-h1b-visas.html Some country is obviously gaming the system if you look the data.

Its 2015 data, who gave you IT job.

Synchrony ———— OP Sep 20, 2019

So, are you saying GC issues rose suddenly after 2015?

NVIDIA lDxR18 Sep 20, 2019

I hate these outsourcing companies!

NVIDIA lDxR18 Sep 20, 2019

But yes, it’s well know already.

If it is well known why don't you mention this when talking about fairness? This is not fair. Indian consulting companies hire only Indians and none from rest of the world. They are the largest number in GC queue. Now people of 160+ countries will be blocked to make way for giving GC's to those unqualified body shop folks. And you are calling fair?

NVIDIA lDxR18 Sep 20, 2019

Yo are right!!! I do talk about it all the time! As I said I hate these consulting companies. It’s completely unfair! Government should impose a strict limit on these with regard to number of h1b issued each year; not more than 2%. Problem is not just that they bring people from one nationality, their whole profit margin is based on this hire cheap. A company like Infosys/Accenture bids for a project (for example some big bank), the ban says they need 2K people. Now the consulting company hires 2K people. The bank is giving about $2K each month for each employee but the company is giving $400 to each employee. And out of those 2K people actual people working on project are mere 100-200 . These guys are paid $450 as they are on project. When the bank wants someone onsite, these companies would send someone onsite on a salary of $60K. , the bank at this time is charged $120K. Now here bank doesn’t have any incentive as they can hire any American in the same salary but their overall cost is less when you factor into the workforce supporting them from India at mere $2K a month. It’s all about business on both sides. American companies still have a lot of profit margin contracting these consulting companies for support and IT, as it makes economic sense to have cheaper labor and as such you know the difference between US dollar or Indian Rupee . It’s a collective exploitation from both sides, and I hope this stops but businesses don’t run on sentiment but profits. If Apple brings their production here, there will be so many jobs for Americans but then why they are not? These American companies should be held accountable as well!

Block the damn HR 1044 Green Card Bill to Remove per Country Limits

Microsoft ajdnfbf Sep 20, 2019

What is the point of this post? If you are an employer and want to get someone from outside, then jump through all the hoops like the Indian companies do and file for a H1B. Indian companies strictly follow the law as it is written. If there really were systematic abuse, Congress would have announced meaningful changes to the process a long time ago.

Nope, it was just overlooked. Until Trump. Google (or Bing if Google is blocked at your workplace) what happened to Cognizant and other shit shops after he stepped in. The law actually started being applied

Microsoft Microsoft. Sep 20, 2019

Then this country cap is also a lawful thing. Isn't it? Indians are victim of other Indians who are abusing the system and taking undue advantage of the loophole in the system.

Uber ubert Sep 20, 2019

Well this is actually hurting deserving Indians most apart from qualified Americans who are displaced. I can totally see how these companies are misusing the h1b and totally support Trump and USCIS in increasing scrutiny to prevent the abuse.

This is like 5-7 year old data, it would be interesting to see how does it look like now.
