Wow! Blind opened a new topics page. Does anyone know where someone should start if they are interested in high frequency trading? Any books or online course that people can recommend? Thanks in advanced!
There is a book called Quanitaive Trading by Ernie Chan that is a good get your feet wet intro
Your real question is how can I get me one of them 300k+ hedge fund jobs without previously working on low latency trading systems. Any knowledge you can bring around the subjects of lockless programming, FPGA programming, and kernel internals especially around the TCP stack and memory subsystems is going to be a plus.
Depends what part you want to do. Quant or engineering?
Can one really get a quant job by completing a few online courses or through self-learning? I heard that those guys won't even look at your resume if you didn't go to one of the few top schools.
Which makes more money?
