Except Google Zurich, is it possible to get the same money (~300k for L5 SWE) anywhere else in Europe? If not, which cities come the closest?
quant finance
You need to benchmark against a prestigious salary to have real equivalence. For example I know the head of the risk department in a major bank in a Euro country is making €200k per year.. The head of a department in a hospital would make €180k, and an experienced consultant would make €175k L6 Amazon can get you ~ €180k as an Engineer
You're saying 10% less than a head of risk department of a bank is what senior engineer in a tech company should aim for?
I’m saying whatever numbers you see and think ‘these are less than Seattle’, bare in mind COL and exactly where those numbers leave you on the nationwide pay scale.
Companies in Stockholm can pay close because of COL.
I thought swedish salaries are very flat across same education levels, i.e. Msc SWE gets similar money as Msc school teacher. Is that not the case anymore?
Definitely not the case. Especially for us companies
