Recently had Google onsite (new grade SWE) and was told that I’d move to hiring committee - are there any rough estimates on percentage of candidates that pass this stage? After HC, still need to do team matching before an offer may be extended, correct? What % are matched successfully? Thanks!
It’s not the usual that most everyone past onsites gets the thumbs up?
I’m not sure, that’s why I’m asking
Far from it. More like 1/6
Probably 95%
Is this for hiring committee? That sounds really high
Yeah
0.07052% according to July 2018 whitepapers. Larry Paige cried over this.
My Google recruiter told me there success rate was 1 out of 6. This is for l3 engineer. I would think it varies based on the position.
1/6 get offer after making it to HC? Wow seems super low, didn’t realize it was this competitive
Yup, this is the acceptance rate at HC. I had "mixed reviews" going in. was surprised i got the offer. Probably had some interviewers strongly vouching for me.
Yes 1/5 to 1/7 is the typical range
They have bias towards false negative vs recruiting false positives
What about after matching to product area?
Having team manager helps the case but is no guarantee
