Nvidia : 1. There was discussion about hiring freeze, cost cutting and revenue down! 2. $7b biggest acquisition in Nvidia history. Isn't contradict? Why you loosing creditability? MSFT, Intel lost bid.
No contradiction! In fact layoffs come with acquisition!
But will they cut card price?
Can't let Intel have Mellanox because then there wouldn't be any good choices for high speed GPU interconnect without working with competitor (Intel)
That's one of the tricks to boost the stock price up. Buy a company with the steady revenue, then cut R&D. Voila, the profit margin will increase significantly. Wallstreet loves this move.
So does competition, just in this case the competition likely canât get out of their own way to even compete with the previous generation product...
Why do you say these two things are at odds. If itâs a profitable company, itâs shouldnât be an issue.
Hiring freeze has nothing to do with acquisition. I don't know why you got the idea that those contradict. Company is still very solid and profitable with lots of cash. Hiring freeze is because we realized we hired crazy and also to not increase opex.
Does anyone at Nvidia have insight into when hiring freeze would end?
Remember, remember, the 5th of November
Who knows. I put my 2 weeks in. Manager is pissed because she cant replace me. #lastlaugh
Maybe they need to cut wages to foot the 7b?
