Home Alone Shenanigans

The amount of package thieves during the holidays has increased over the past few years. Makes me sad, but also reminds me of one of my favorite holiday movies I watched as a kid. Anybody have success implementing some “Home Alone” style booby traps? (If you’ve never seen the movie, check it out first)

I've always wanted to get a 12 gauge shotgun shell alarm. You put a blank 12 gauge in the device, its activated by tripwire. Fill an amazon box full of dog shit, attach the tripwire to the ground, package thief tires to steal the box and boom, dog shit all over them. Worried about getting in trouble with the law or a lawsuit.

Idk how this works but if you're using gun powder couldn't this still kill someone? Pike shooting someone with a blank at close range?

In a contained box with a lot of dog shit, unlikely.

Put shit(feces) in a used amazon box and tape it up. Put some speakers playing gunshot noises as soon as they pick the box up. Have something fall over them when the pick the box up (objects can be heavy tools, gravel, mud, tar, glue.

It’s illegal to booby trap. It’s illegal to steal too, but if you injure someone who is burgling your packages, you can be liable.

That's brilliant.

Love it. But then a thief can simply case for a couple days and document the configuration. Change equals real package

Meh. If an amazon package gets stolen I can just contact customer support.
