1900 for 5 Years or 60000 miles. Worth it or no? How much does servicing a car usually cost?

Look at the maintenance schedule in your owner’s manual and compare what is required there to what is going into that $1900. You’re probably getting a lot of “recommended” unnecessary stuff in the quote or else it’s overpriced but it’s hard to know without understanding whether there is actually anything wrong with your car right now other than needing a 5yr/60k service for a Honda of a model you haven’t specified.

I don’t really see a schedule in the manual, only a list of what the maintenance codes mean when the maintenance minder indicator turns on.

Should be able to find it in there somewhere or else online. There should be set recommended intervals by age or mileage to get certain things done.

For Hondas the repair and upkeep costs jump closer to 80k miles. Stuff breaks or needs to get resealed and what not. Generally very reliable cars but they'll still wear and tear over time.

  • Depends on the car’s current age.

No need at all to buy that with your new car, though. In the beginning, all you’ll have to do is maintenance as per Honda Maintenance plan. Mainly oil and filter changes, none of which should cost more than $80-100 (and that’s an expensive dealership).

Where would you recommend getting the car serviced?

    • While under warranty at Honda dealership. Paying as you go is much cheaper and while under warranty they will take care of problems for you

So I did the math. It would cost me 2600 with the prices at dealers for 5 years. That’s why I’m wondering how big the price difference between dealers and others.

New? If so a Honda won’t need any maintenance in 60k miles other than oil changes

If you live close to a dealership or maintenance location, it could be worth it for convenience. Otherwise I’d say not worth.
