Anyone ever negotiate housing terms for a job offer? Wondering how it came up and what tactics you used.
Relocation bonus probably. Some companies will just pay for your first few months of salary upfront to handle that though
Relo plus flex during transition and extended onboarding time. Always ascertain their comfort with remote transitional work too to make the shift easier. I built an extra 30 days into a 2000+ mile move
Thanks for the feedback. I'm currently being offered a promotion but it's on the other side of the country and have never had to deal with relo but appreciate all the good answers
Do Facebook, Google, Uber, Amazon offer relocation bonus?
Don't hijack the thread!
i have helped people by offsetting moving costs, finding a Realtor and mortage broker to find the house they wanted to move
I do not accept a job offer without it at least paying for the packing/moving company in full and house sale assistance (which basically includes payment of all closing costs and commissions).
Yahoo paid relocation in 2005. Moved the furniture and car, found us a temp rental but no extra time or help in picking the right place to live.
I've heard that Microsoft offers full payment and help in the moving process. You get to live in a hotel for a week while they pay for movers to pack up your whole house and move it as identically as possible to your new place.
I think you would do that if the job is in a different country.
