Not sure about DT Austin, but Domain is pretty awesome to live at. Lots of good restaurants, shopping areas too.

Most of the places west of DT are pretty decent but try to avoid west campus tho. East to DT are shitty neighborhood, as well as some places across the river. BTW are there engineering teams in FB office there?

Thanks man , no there are no engineers at Austin

Depends on your rent/commute trade off. You can live on east 6th Arnold, etc. 10 min You can actually live right in downtown. You do pay a premium but get to live at the center of it all. AMLI on 2nd is like 4 blocks away. Alternatively you can be out 15 min on riverside or mueller and rent drops by a lot. West Austin is mostly homes so if that’s your style. Welcome to Austin(you are not gonna hear it much tho :p)

How much are you willing to pay? 1.8-2.3k will get you an apartment that is walkable to that DT office. Otherwise you pretty much need a car in Austin.

Highly recommend checking transit options using Capitol Metro tools. Although there are many options near the campus unless you have only one transfer, the transit options can be a huge time suck. Metrorail to downtown and a bus hop or a rapid transit bus makes far out places like Leander a faster commute than some areas inside Austin.

You could look at places off the train line near North Lamar, but depending on your TC, you might be better off renting near downtown. Central East/East has lots of new apartment builds and decently priced home rentals
