Housing in SF

Logitech Sigurd
Dec 3

Been looking around for housing options in SF and trying to set a realistic target.

Checking craigslist, it seems that decent 1br/studios are available in the 3-3.5k range.
(Tenderloin and Sunset/Richmond are out)

In a different t thread somebody suggest that they start at 4-5k.
I agree that SF prices are outrageous but 3-3.5k looks like a healthy budget to me.

Is this correct?

Background: starting at Google MTV in Feb so need to be close-ish to G bus stops.

Probably good hoods but way to far out for me. Need probably a more central location.

It's not that far. Takes me like 20-30 mins in the Bart. Also, Uber pool to the middle of mission is like 6$. You'll savw in rent and can get a better place.

That doesn’t sound too bad. I’ll def have a look.
Proximity to the google bus is important.

I’d like to avoid Nob Hill, Soma, tenderloin and generally Market street unless it’s all the way up around the Castro.
But I guess one has to take what one can get.

Are Nob Hill and soma unsafe as well?

I'm looking myself, relocating to SF in Feb. If we get rid of sunset, Richmond, soma, nob Hill, tenderloin, there's not much left. Cow hollow, North Beach and marina are expensive. Hayes Valley and dogpatch seem to be similar to nob Hill in terms of safety.

I’d love Hayes Valley or Divis, Nopa. Alamo Square, Cole Valley.
Noe Valley and Bernal are a bit far out but can be nice.

Consult with a rental realtor. They'll find 1bedrooms within your budget and will schedule tours + drive you to all the potential houses. Makes life 100times easier for you.

Yeah... if we have no other choice.

Don’t doubt it’s a easier but they take about 10% of yearly rent I guess.
