I’m Sooo Happy about Biden signing TikTok ban bill today!!
I took a job at a non silicon valley tech firm (Qualtrics) to advance my career. I thought it would give me more options in the future. I've been a bit disappointed by my experience at Qualtrics. Does that experience help me get in at a top tier tech company, or will I have to take another step back (after taking one to move into tech) to go to a big firm. Multiple graduate degree, name brand MBA, operations.
Nah you're fine. It's about what you did not where you did it necessarily.
Your experience matters more. I’ve seen lots of my colleagues coming from a no name company. People have to start somewhere
I work in SF with MBA and interview MBAs. People know Qualtrics. It prob won’t get you points, but it won’t be seen as a negative. Title will matter more. Main drawback is SF recruiters won’t reach out to you since your aren’t local so you need to be more proactive. PS, Medallia is hiring.
Qualtrics is literally a name brand tech company..
I worked in Denver for a no name startup before. When I decided to leave Denver I got interviews from all over the country: FANG, Uber, Lyft, etc in NY, SF, Seattle. So don’t worry.
The penalty is having to work at an insurance company for 5 years. Geico in seattle is hiring...
