Want to know from apple employees :)
What's your views on iPhone X which is similar to S8 only. Even S8 has far better display.

You guys don't get it. All my android phones would die a few hours after a full charge and require atleast one restart a day to be remotely functional, just 6 months after purchase( I have previously owned S,S2,S4, nexus 5). My 3 years old iPhone 5s on the other hand still works like a charm. I personally don't care who does it first, I just want it done right.

I had S, S2, S3, S4. Eventually tired of phone not being able to even send text messages after using for a year and half. iPhones still are great after 2-3 years of usage.

I felt pretty good about the announcements today.
iPhone X edge to edge display is awesome. It’s a leap forward.
The camera enhancements are pretty cool, specially the portrait lighting mode and the animoji.
The upgrade this year are much more substantial than iPhone 7.

I wonder if people with real life problems care about unlocking a phone with a face rather than a touch, animojis, dual cameras, better processors, nueral nets or wireless charging. Apple targets individuals with image issues and money. The extravagance in the light of silicon valley disparity/homelessness is shameful.

People are homeless because they make poor life decisions and get addicted to drugs, not because Apple actually does something productive for the world.

The world won't be a just place until every working person gives up their life to further someone's heroin addiction.

So, all homelessness is result of drug addiction and poor decisions? Never circumstantial.👍🙏 thank you! I hope humanity make good decisions to find a job in GAFA. This will eliminate poverty and promote world peace through monopolies and no governments. On a separate note, this sums it up well. https://youtu.be/sjlHnJvXdQs

In San Francisco, nothing is anybody's fault, unless you work in tech and can afford an iPhone, in which case it's because you're a horrible person.

It's the same show since Jobs passed away. With every subsequent Keynote, I give up more hope that Apple will actually innovate than play catch up with their cash cow. Seriously, when the iPhone first came out, we had phones with touch screens for a while, but the iPhone was like aliens handed us their technology. Where's that magic now?

Around the time of the iPhone 3G that phone was innovative, cutting edge for the time...$599 retail. This thing is...less innovative, less cutting edge and $999. Inflation didn't do that, greed did.

First iPhone keynote where I 100% do not care. Not even a little. No clue why I should care about edge to edge display. Seems like a gimmick. I'd rather it be twice as indestructible without a case.

I think Apple Watch 3 should be the highlight. It's finally becoming a standalone product line with the LTE connectivity.

They miss Jobs. Apple does not have anything "new" to unveil. They need to dig deep to bring forth real innovation. Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Facebook can't--it (real-mindshare-cool-make-ya-say-damn-innovation) is not in their DNA. Apple must be more innovative. This incremental shit is wack.

Employee here. I kind of balked at the price at first, but looking at all of the rumors/speculation and the logistics behind all of the stuff they crammed into the iPhone X, I can see why the price is so high. They're not gonna be able to keep up with the demand at a $700 price point, and so the pricing is a way to help stave off the huge demand.

I mean, the engineers crammed essentially a Kinect v3.0 into a 1-2” by 0.25” space, and I know those customer shaped OLED screens probably don’t have the best yield rates, so they priced it higher until they’re able to ramp production to the same quantity of making 7’s, 8’s etc. apparently the BOM for it is the highest of any phone they have produced, and I’m curious to see an iFixit teardown in a few months.

I just got the Series 2 watch this year, so I’m not upgrading for a bit, but I can see the use cases for people that could use a Cellular WAtch without having to have their phones on them. Or they get into an emergency when their phones aren’t available.

I'm personally really excited for AR, but I don't see it taking off today. The whole bit with animojis cheapened the hell out of the technology achievements they've made so far.

They were right when they said the iPhone was a glimpse at the future-- because being the future means that it's just not ready today.

Don't be harsh. You know how many years of instant ramen those AR PhDs had to eat before being able to graduate and get a real job? Hell, they'd use their hard-earned AR chops to put penises on faces in an instant if someone were willing to pay them for it.

I'm on the fence about AR. Will AR take off or is it just a way to sell $1000 phones? The AR stuff was the only thing that was cool imho.

The use cases for that stuff wasn't powerful enough. It sounds like "hey, we have AR! But you'll only get to use it if you have a table to play this game on"
