I like the comfort of FAANG life, TC, flexibility. But I give 0 ๐๐ s about my product and would rather help save the planet. Very few opportunities at G, esp not in MTV. Or should I hold out for the Green New Deal? Edit: I should point out I'm already a vegetarian. But I'm looking less at small lifestyle changes, more to how I can apply myself towards making the world not die.
1. Donโt have kids, 2. Convince everyone you know to not have kids. 3. Donโt use plastic straws or plastic bags. 4. Advocate for a total ban on fossil fuels.
Go vegetarian
Human life is global warming. Finish skynet
It's a long play, but you could come join John Platt's org in RMI/GAS, the overall goal is exactly that.
Killing yourself is technically the best way.
Creating euthanasia kits is even more effective, no?
Go Vegan
Actively support political groups that are serious about climate change. Nothing will get done without governments forcing it to happen; the profit motive is too strong and too blind.
Donโt fart ๐จ thatโs helps a lot
Dude are you me? Don't have kids. Eat significantly less meat. Buy the huge strong tote bags from Ikea and use them every time you shop. Convince everyone in your company to work remotely more often. Or convince the company to be 100% remote, reducing the amount of traffic and car pollution and increase happiness / reduce attrition. Lease a car, don't EVER buy. Buy electric or hybrid. Turn off your lights at night. Move to an apartment that gets its electricity from solar/hydro. Get your offices to use solar panels. Go to your local farmers market. Buy from Impossible Foods and invest in Beyond Meats.
