How can I report bad VC behavior?

I was subject to behavior that needs to be reported. Neither portfolio companies nor limited partners should be subject to this person and firm. Should I go to a reporter? If so will I be credible if I remain anonymous? (I don’t want to relive my experience or be publicly shamed and discredited). Is there any point in going directly to a VC governing body (NVCA? Do they have any teeth?). Some time has passed so I am thinking as clearly as I can. I am committed to make sure they face appropriate consequences. Your help is appreciated.

Just move on unless you are out for revenge

Disregard this advice. It's exactly why the swamp of bad actors has been so slow to drain.

Perhaps first explain (in terms that keep you and the accused anonymous) what exactly happened so we can best help you?

If it's serious enough, a lawyer would be prudent to consult with. Reviewing them on sites like Glassdoor, Google, yelp, etc is a small step in the right direction with escalations through BBB, local regulators or nuclear option through Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) since that's the primary regulator.

Or the NYT gender letter reporters. Worth reporting.
