The tech industry begs to Congress for h1b/L1 visas and fills up 200k jobs annually utilizing those visas. On the other hand, uses leetcode hard during interviews to be extremely choosy and makes it hard to get tech job. How can beggars be such choosers?
What the heck are you saying kid? What did you smoke?
The truth is most companies don't actually need H1B, as there are plenty qualified domestic candidates for doing at least 90% of the work at these companies.
Then are the domestic workers unemployed? I thought we were on an all time unemployment low.
Don't understand your question. We are at a low rate of unemployment currently. Companies would much rather have indentured servants than a mobile workforce that can negotiate higher wages with their feet.
95%+ of CS grads are losers who donโt know anything useful.
H1bs are exactly what allows these companies to be more selective. They have increased supply. So they can pay less and be pickier.
Because we only want the best both foreign and domestic. We don't want to have to deny more qualified candidates due to legal bullshit. But that in no way means we want them to be less qualified
Yes. So a homeless guy should only demand organic food, he will throw away any other food.
We have orders of magnitude more candidates than positions. Using that analagy, imagj e there is some organic food and non organic food on two sides of a street. There is not enough organic food on your side of the street but it is illegal to cross. You don't want to eat the non organic food (even though it would fill you) so you petition the government to make crossing legal. Then you go and get the organic food from the other side. At no point do you have to eat non organic food.
