How can big data be applied to the chemical industry?

TC: 150k, HW R&D Looking for opportunities to drive my career while bumping my pay or just to brainstorm ideas for the next big leap in my field. Someone I know says it'll be in computational chemistry with QBits but I have no idea. Predictive diagnostics perhaps? I'm more of a gearhead and have a PhD in Chem instrumentation.

Chemical plants have tons of sensors and control systems, reduced order modeling etc become very important. Checkout companies like ABB.

Koch is hiring to build its data science capabilities for chemical manufacturing, I heard from its HR.

Process control. My original background is in chem engineering. I actually had a prototype system that worked with fieldbus-compliant controls at one point. PM me
