Got an offer (senior analyst), not FAANG. The recruiter looked a bit surprised when I asked 92k for base salary, but said will get back to me soon. Annual bonus and signing bonus not discussed yet. In Engineer dominant Blind, 92k looks very little lol, but in general how much other senior analyst on Blind get paid? I have an interview with one of FAANG 3 wks later, but I need to give an answer to this company within 1 week :(
No you don’t need to. What you have to do is be upfront with them. Tell them your schedule. Of course you have to accept the risk that they will find somebody else in the meantime, but that’s your decision, not there’s. You should tell them that you understand that they might get someone else in the meantime, and let them know your status after the other interviews. As always truth will set you free, even though it could cost you a job. You can also accept the offer, and still go to the FANG interview 2 weeks later. If you has asked for more, you could always tell them that you would be ready to accept now for your preferred price. But since you are the one who asked for 92k, it’s a little hard. The fact they they already gave you what you wanted means you probably had more room to negotiate, which mean you should get more with FAANG (if they like you).
That’s a good point. I may accept it and still do an interview with FAANG, just to be safe :)
If you interview at Twitch for senior analyst role, you will definitely get more than 92k. That may be the value of just the RSUs.
Lol I know. Twitch is a part of Amazon, so of course it’s higher :) I don’t know much about Twitch, but interested. How do you like it?
Keep us updated, I'm interested to see where things go for you.
Keep in mind that if you’re 3 weeks from an on-site you should add at least 1 to 3 more weeks for a final offer. Another week if you’re at the phone screen stage but you can push recruiter to go a bit faster.
Call the FAANG and ask to move up your interview to next week because you have an offer on the table. They will move it up.
For most parts of the coumtry, making 92k in 4 years is good pay, these giant salaries are in bay area mainly but you may get close at FANG companies in other major cities.
Exploding offers aren't a thing in 2018 so stall them politely. How many years of experience do you have?
4 yrs as an analyst
This company is a lost cause because you gave yourself a ceiling on comp (as the other commenter pointed out). I would recommend that you pursue the FANG companies and not repeat the same mistake.
