From my understanding: 1. Product analyst interview is SQL and product sense. Low pay. 2. Quantitative analyst is stats and probability heavy, and considers PhDs only. Good pay. 3. Research scientist is ML research and considers PhDs only. Best pay. Is this correct? How about a DS role? Which one of this maps to FB DS Analytics and Core ML? While we are at it, anyone willing to offer a referral at Google?
FWIW myself and a couple of over people I know did the PA interview and got asked tough stats questions / ML questions / python questions. And pay still sucks
This is correct. We’re expected to be as good at stats/ml as DS ladder, but paid far less. Also our (PA’s) ladder leads are shared with DS
What was pay for product analytics lead L3/L4?
What about MLE?

That’s correct. Google renamed “quantitative analyst” to “data scientist,” but it’s the same as before. Software Engineer is tied with Research Scientist for pay, can be similar to ML Engineer elsewhere. (Referrals only work if the person has worked with you in the past.)
Thanks. Does DS also fall under the engineering org? Is there something similar to a lead at other companies (I haven't worked with this person but I know him or consider his profile because it looks good)?
