How do food delivery companies deal with shrinkage?

Ok, so I order from GrubHub, UberEats, Postmates, DoorDash etc

Sometimes the restaurant really fucks up my order and I complain and get compensated. So who really takes the hit here? The restaurant or are the delivery companies just eating that loss?

It’s paid out of the CLV by future investors and you as they raise prices and make you buy their junk shares as they IPO

The delivery companies get hit with the refunds/chargebacks. Restaurants get paid via the couriers credit card or banking integration. Data scientists at the delivery companies figure out refund trends and remove offending restaurants.

  • With uber eats , the restaurant gets fucked. With grubhub since I worked with them a little over a year , I can say that they refund u or compensate u from their own pocket

It depends on the policy/agreement the restaurant has with the company. It might of even been the company's software that fucked up. The goal is to the comp the customer immediately, and then get the money from whoever caused the issue.
