How do taxes work at a fully remote company if I travel around?

Is having an address in one state good enough to continue to be taxed for that area? Even if I travel abroad for 3+ months? I wonder at what point the tax system changes for digital nomads.

Check the resident criteria for your state

Your tax is based on your "home" location. Yuh could have a different "work" location but main tax is "home" based

You are taxed at the rate of the entity paying you

In the States, some areas require you to pay local income taxes if you're there working more than a few days. It was originally designed to hit professional athletes who play in California but live in Nevada.

If you travel more than 25k miles a year, the IRS waives all federal taxes.

No matter where you live or work, if you’re a US citizen, you’ll still owe federal income tax.

It depends on your resident state and where you work from. You can claim the foreign earned income tax credit (something like that) if you're out of the country for enough days if the year. Then your first 100k or so per year is exempt. Check the laws
