26 y/o male. I live solo and in a long distance relationship. Family lives in a different timezone and we don’t visit often. I do see my gf once a month. My colleagues don’t hang out outside / after work. I don’t have many close friends in the bay area. The ones who are here are busy in their own lives. We do hang out once in a while. I’ve met people through meetups but those connections are fun but short-lived. What am I doing wrong? How can I feel less lonely and more satisfied? I’ve a wonderful job. TC 250k, yoe 4
Volunteering for a cause helps. Learning new things help. Giving back to the community helps.

Dump your girlfriend. Find one where you live. You are welcome.
See if you can relocate with work. Just left the bay that way and it helped a lot
Stay in a house with few other IT guys.
Pick meetups with regular event postings focussed on common hobbies, like hiking or theater etc. the die hards go to many and over time you become a part of a community. Check out The Mankind Project. It is centered around bringing men together in small (3-12) groups every week or two to just talk about what’s going on in their lives. If you go online, you can probably find an open group that accepts visitors so you can see what it’s like
Do you have roommates?
Hit the gym, you'll still be alone but won't have as much time to feel it. Not everyone can force themselves to join random people.
