I understand that Amazon doesn’t have the best rep... Any insight regarding how AWS is vs Amazon? In terms of things like culture, wlb, caliber of employees and managers? Thanks
You probably get a few more free bananas at AWS
Same company, same principles. When you talk about best rep, are you referring to news articles about work at warehouses or oncall/wlb? If you are talking about the same role, the specific team matters more than than AWS vs other.
On the corporate side of things, sounds like Amazon has the rep of limited/none of the usual tech company perks, sky high demands, etc You’ll hear about people loving Google where as people seem to just tolerate Amazon
If you are comparing to Google, yes less perks like we don't get catered meals. We get stock, but the vesting structure sucks. I didn't get stock in prior jobs, so I guess it is relative. Does Bronto have any good perks?
AWS is very operationally heavy Vs Amazon.
Could you elaborate? I thought Amazon as a whole was pretty operationally heavy
Can we interview simultaneously at AWS and Amazon. I mean do recruiter consider them separate entity or not?
They are not separate entities and you can split interviews across teams. Ie interview with AWS and Alexa for instance
AWS has a higher technical bar and more ops load. It’s a different company with a different CEO who reports to Jeff
TC is also slightly more in some cases
AWS makes a profit
Lol that's the same in both places. Op is asking about differences not similarities.
As far as I know, the tc is the same across their retail and aws teams.
Any insight other than TC?
