I know team changing is pretty simple at companies like Google & Salesforce. At Microsoft it is team dependant, but usually involves at least 2-3 rounds of LeetCode & sys design.

What's the process like at :-

Uber
LinkedIn
Stripe

Generally you don’t have to re-interview once you are in. You just need to have support from your current manager and the hiring manager.

So if your current manager doesn't want to let you go, you're stuck ?

Is it common for people from apps to transfer to infra without reinterviewing?

It’s easier if your current manager is supportive because they can help you shop around for another team, but they can’t prevent you from leaving the team, so their opinion doesn’t really matter in the end.

It looks much worse for them if you leave the company, so they have a strong incentive to support you switching teams. As a manager, having someone on your team leave the company is a failure, but having them switch teams is a success (assuming they’re switching because they want to do something else rather than because they hate you).

Very easy at Uber. Depending on the hiring manager, you don't even need to interview.

Even if you are changing domain from frontend to infra, or backend to ML ?
