I have read that there is no term called H1b transfer. Actually, each employer files a petition to sponsor you and prior h1b approval doesn't guarantee that the next employer's H1B petition will be approved! So let's say employerA files h1b for you in April. And you got approval somewhere before October. Now, you interviewed and got better opportunity with employerB in July. Would you be able to quickly transfer the job and continue without any gap? Or it will be a huge mess? Any suggestions, I am new to this h1b visa
Ground rules: read up more on H1B. The questions you asked should be covered in 101. If employer files in April and you get selected, you can't move till Oct. Transfer is quick if your employee files premium, else takes 3-6 months. You can work for new employer with just the receipt, but if the petition gets denied, you need to leave the country.
Leave the country immediately? What's that. This means you are stuck with the employer who filed h1b for you. Since, you don't know why the uscis rejects you transfer application.
Yes. You get 10 days to leave. You are not stuck. You work with the previous employer till the petition is approved or risk joining the new one before the approval.
I’m into my third year now and I’ve been trying to switch since year 1. It’s pretty hard.
If you don't mind, what kind of companies you have applied to? I mean are they FANG? Could share the reasons why they were helping you to file another application
I guess the main reason is companies now try to avoid H1B applicants I’ve noticed that lately.
Harder than lc hard
