How is $130k TC in Irvine,California ?
Hi, How is $130k TC in Irvine,CA. Is it a good salary for a family of two ? I have MS and 3+ YOE current TC: 115K
$130k will go a long way for a couple mid-20s young professionals. just fine. You wont be buying a house in a year but that is plenty to rent a nice place and have dinners out. But Irvine is not the sexiest place. I would definitely ask for a weekend to head down, check it out, stay a few nights, make sure you like the area before committing. Heavy commercial business suburb.
Not sexy but super comfortable. Great place for a nice chill California life. Plus LA and SD are like an hour away.
Are you the sole income provider? You won’t be living large in Irvine on 130k, but rent is mostly high because schools are so great. Go somewhere like Costa Mesa if you don’t have kids in school

Living in Irvine at 98k-125k is doable for me. Not in a house just a Irvine company apartment. You can get a 1 bedroom for 2,200$ or so. There are areas outside of Irvine that are not far where you can find better pricing.
It's fine. You can buy townhome or even a house in South OC with that TC. Aliso Viejo is 10 min drive from Irvine. 3 bedroom houses go for $650K with 9/10 schools.
