How is Salesforce SDS Team

A recruiter contacted me for LMTS (or above) role in Software Defined Security team at Salesforce. Looks like the hiring manager is in Bellevue but the position is in San Francisco. Any insights into the said team OR Infra security org in general? I am not sure if there is much upside TC wise, but, perhaps, culture/wlb? TC: 315k

Vp is in bellueve but actual manager and team is still in sf. Very strong engineers, including the manager. Although plagued by upper leadership rot that's effecting the entire security cloud.

Thanks, Chillar. I am told that they have some 5-6 critical infra security projects in the pipeline ( under different managers) And the hiring manager is definitely in Bellevue. That said, point noted about engineers. Leadership sucks at my current job as well. That’s one big reason I am even considering this..

Do you think salesforce would pay you more than 350K?

Also the commute sucks

@scrame , I am not sure what the norm there is. levels.fyi is all over the map. I am not even sure they would match what I already have. For me, commute is not an issue. I am already commuting an hr or so one way - but yes, it is also a concern. At this point, I am just trying to see if the company/team is worth looking at. Separately, how is the security team in solidfire/hci btw? I have another recruiter hounding me for that. I hear Netapp is not big on RSUs. And salesforce seems to not believe in refreshers.

Security in general had poor management right from some managers up to thE VPs. There will be very less work life balance since the deadlines are pretty aggressive. If you still want to get in, hold out for more

I see! Thank you, @xpNa12

Don't move to SF for it, get them to locate the position in Bellevue, your money is worth so much more up north.
