How is number of RSUs in Facebook offer calculated ?

I have an offer from Facebook which has RSU component of $280k.. How is the number of stocks calculated? Is based on stock price on joining date, or any other date or the average of joining month or average of previous month ?

I’m always amused when someone who works at Google, which is arguably the worst company when it comes to data collection and privacy, says things like this. Sorry that we didn’t extend you an offer buddy. Try again in a year.

It’s calculated by the total value divided by share price on grant date, which is usually a month or so after your start date, when board approves new hire grants

Didn’t know that how grant date is calculated. I always thought it’s when compensation committee approved :-(

If I remember right, it's the avg of the price in the full month before your joining month. So if you join in April, your hasn't will be based on the avg stock price in March.

Confirming that this guy remembers correctly.

Joining = signing offer or first day on campus?

Whats the vesting period? is it 3 or 4 years?

Best bet is to ask the recruiter. Generally it is stock price on vest date. If you join in April, vest date could be May 15.
