I am looking to interview with aws. I heard amzn culture depends a lot on the teams. How is the work life balance and culture of the following aws teams? Iot analytics, lambda and sagemaker?
I can speak to Lambda. It’s relatively new and growing like crazy. It’s in the midst of a rearchitecture to support the massive growth it’s seeing.
Teams I’ve interacted with work ~10ish to 4:30-5ish. Hour lunch. Team lunches at least once a week.
Significant emphasis on clean, readable code. Simplicity is king. Code reviews typically involve several people, sometimes up to 10 people.

No wonder why feature rollout is so slow.
>code reviews sometimes involve 10 people This honestly sounds like hell Great WLB though
