Is the director role senior enough with good charter, or it's like a lame role like Engg manager or Sr. engg manager, where u have just to listen. Is this a proactive role? In Bangalore, is it a real director role or it's fake like financial domain companies like Morgan Stanley or Fidelity.
Job description might not be true indicator. I am looking for experience from people who worked in the role. And yes their job description do mention that they want director to code.
It’s not a role with any kind of independent charter - you will be responsible for herding cats
Director role is Visa is pretty misleading. It’s not as senior as in say Amazon or say any other technology company. It’s at P2 level and easy to get to and has very little clout at the org level. What I am trying to get to is this: if you are L6 in Amazon then go for Senior Director, nothing less. And don’t be fooled if they tell you it’s not possible. And one more thing, Visa is RICH. And they can pay if they need you. So do NOT believe a word if the recruiter tries to low ball you which they will.
Shouldn’t the job description tell you more than blind? Aside from that every role in a company comes with some sexy and some unsexy responsibilities.
