Is it different from FAANG? Better, worse. Pros, cons. I’d like to know as I’m thinking of applying soon. Pay? Chance for career growth? What do you learn, etc
AI/R is great. Recently moved there from Windows. Huge upgrade. Work feels much more like actual engineering rather than just programming
I know AI, what is the R?
Yeah it depends on team/project. The best is up there with the best of Google... the worst is... well lots not talk about the worst
Which teams/projects are considered on par with google?
Maybe Azure?
I am in Azure. The amount of freedom given to new grads is amazing. 6 months in, after proving that I was not retarded I was in charge of a very impacting project. The variance between teams is enormous.

Google CFO confirms "large-scale" layoffs today (Apr 17)
It's a huge company so a lot of this is dependent on org. There are many teams in here with good culture, technologies and chances for growth. The only downside is that pay is not on par with FANG (especially stock), so you should be prepared for that. That and no free food. Otherwise benefits are comparable (and in certain cases better).
