I have a couple applications in with Amazon, some being almost a month old. They’re still “under review”. Is this normal? How long does it usually take for a hiring manager to review applications? Some of these postings are months old, but recently updated, so I would assume they’re still actively searching for someone to fill the position.
We get a lot of resumes, I would think it’s comparable to google. I don’t think any hiring manager has the time to look at every one of them in detail. Sometimes it comes to luck as to whether you resume gets seen. Try to get a referral or even better find a way to get in touch with the hm.
OP: are you talking about the status on their job portal? I have tried many times, and never get any response. I don't believe in those status to keep checking. It only works when they call you.!! Same experience applying through LinkedIn. Don't hold your breath on those updates, but try connections.
Thanks. I know an SDM there, so maybe I can leverage that connection. I’m not going for an SDE role (different tech role), but maybe he knows some of the hiring managers
If you want intro to recruiter for AWS, I can connect you. That person seem responsive. St least, you deserve a possible /not possible fit response. I do that to my candidates!!!
Amazon recruiting actually works pretty fast compared to any other company I have seen. Managers need the bodies quickly too. Either you haven’t made the cut or they are looking internally.
they have to do the needful before making any decisions!
