How long did you breastfeed and pumping at work?

What is your experience with pumping at work when the baby is about 10 months? How many times do you need to pump and how much to get out? Assuming you are not exclusively pumping, you can feed the baby before and after work. Thanks

Can't speak directly about this as I am male, but my wife pumped for 18 months and we fed our son breastmilk from a bottle until he was 22 months. She pumped about every three hours every day and usually averaged around 6 - 8 oz of milk, but I think it varies by person and baby. There is no "right" answer. Best of luck and wish you the best with your new one!

Is she exclusively pumping? Amazing job of pumping! Where did she work ? Did her employer allow her to pump even after the baby is one year old? Thanks

This is round two for us, we get 4 months of maternity/paternity leave so she's been breastfeeding (no bottle) and pumping this time before we have to do the daycare thing. First time was exclusive bottle w/ breastmilk, which I liked because I could help out and take some feedings at night and let her sleep after her pump.

No one said a word to her, she pumped 3 - 4 x a day. ( I think ). For the most part, people seem to get it unless they are fresh out of college and don't have kids.

My kiddos breastfed until 11 months old, then they stopped on their own. I returned to work at 3 months for both and pumped 4-8 Oz out of each breast at 10 am and 2 pm.

I pumped only a few months back at work but know many women (tech in Silicon Valley) with good supply who went to 12+ months, pumping 2-3 times a day. If your manager isn’t supportive go to HR. No company wants a bad reputation around this and their are laws to protect you.

Protect your pump time on your calendar. Once you get used to pumping at work most people can work while pumping. I like to use one pump a day to not work and take a mental break. Check out Moms in Tech group on FB. Lots of advice there on this kind of topic.
