applied for SDE position through a friend of mine at Amzn two weeks ago.
Well.... will get called only if you get selected.
95% of my referrals didnβt get a response. The ones that did, they got it the day or two after the referral.
It depends. Just because someone referred you does not mean they will call you. Of all the referrals I put in only about 10% got selected and contacted. Make sure you set up your jobs profile on jobs.amazon.com and you might see the status of your application there.
You can always forward resume to the HM and get their inputs. Usually that works faster.
How do you know who's the hiring manager?

Is there a team in mind, or just general referral? Amazon referrals is very poorly run, and they basically need someone on the inside harassing them every step of the way to get anything done.
So true
Not a general one. Was interested in an SDE role at Alexa. Got a mail from that my friend submitted my resume. But nothing happened after that. Applied for 3 individual roles without referral a couple of years ago and it is still in review :ππ
Agree with above post. Itβs better to directly email the HM with a nice intro.
I got called in two days...
There are no guarantees that referrals will be called. I referred my friend to my own team and she never heard back. I asked my manager if he had seen my friend's resume and he said he had not. I gave him my friend's resume and then he spoke to HR and got Interview scheduled.
Thanks for the reply.

There's no average. It can be as fast as a few days to never.
