I was laid off on Oct 22, 2018 and have been attending interviews since then. According to immigration rules, I have to get a job and the new H1B' receipt before 60 days which means I have to start my new job before Dec 21,2018. I am expecting an offer next week + 4 onsite interviews lined up next week. I am in a precarious situation and would like to get some data points to estimate if I can start before Dec 21. So it would be great if you can give me some data points about how long it took for you from offer to receipt so that I can prepare/speak with recruiters accordingly.Thank you. Also, if you have any other suggestions to handle this situation it would be welcome. Edit : I got verbal offers from Mathworks and LinkedIn. How do these companies handle VISA situations like mine?
You have very less time
I am aware of that. I just wanted to get some data points about how long it takes from offer to receipt. So it would be great if you can give that information.
If I were you I would tell each recruiter the truth
Well, it depends on the lawyers and how much are you prepared with your paperwork. Keep around 10 days for LCA. Then, Job description and petition filing is dependent on lawyer. And some of the best Law Firms are really slow. You would have to push them hard, like real hard to file the petition.
What is the LI immigration attorney saying? You should certainly ask their opinion. What was your last pay stub date?
I haven't got the offer yet. Just the verbal from the recruiter. So I haven't had the chance to ask them. My last paystub date was on October 22
You don’t really need a receipt to join. When LinkedIn files tour h1b, you are good to join. How do I know this ? I did this. But again this was when premium processing was still alive.
Where is the offer from...
