I completed a phone interview with Nest last Friday. I completed an online assessment for Expedia last saturday. How long does it usually take before I hear back from recruiters? I'm not entirely optimistic about my Nest phone interview, since I only answered one question and it took me almost the entire 45 minutes.
Does nest still have a separate pool from alphabet?
Did they get back to you?
Having been recruited and hired here twice in my career, and also having been a hiring manager twice, I have to say that recruiting at Expedia has always been pretty dismal relative to other places I've worked (MSFT, Amazon, and startups). It can take weeks for them to get back to you, or sometimes they seem to just lose track. It's been very frustrating when I've tried to refer friends. My advice is to send the recruiter a nice email request for an update about once a week (unless they tell you it's going to be longer, in which case follow up when they tell you to). If you have internal contacts, reach out to them and have them follow up. I've been lucky enough to have had friends who were senior management here both times, so I could use back channels to get recruiting on the ball.
I completed the Expedia assessment two weeks ago, they responded with a hirevue request and said they would get in touch with me for second round technical interview that same week. Its been two weeks since they said that and no news yet... not sure if my application got lost or what happened.
Have you followed through with the recruiter? I was going to shoot them an email, but give it a day or two. Was it for an SDE1 position?
Up till now, everything seems to be automated, i literally added all the recruiters i could find on linkedin to try to follow through. One said they told the hiring manager to respond, but i still have not heard anything (this was last wednesday). For sde graduate intern position. Im guessing the intern reqs are filled now and they dont even notify people after that?
