How many YoE for SDE2 / L4 Interviews?
Hey everyone, How many YoE is needed to start reliably getting through for SDE2 level interviews? I have around 1 year at a crappy startup and about 1 year at Amazon. Looking to hit SDE2 promo mid next year but have been talking to G / FB / Uber recruiters for openings early next year. Would it be worth it to jump same level to any of these companies? Should I wait until promo before interviewing? I don't hate Amazon but it moves pretty slowly for me and really leaves a lot to be desired in terms of benefits. Any feedback appreciated :) TC: 135k
I'd wait for promotion (assuming you trust your boss). Promotions are easy evidence for potential new managers to see your work was valued by a previous employer.
Prepare well and if you hit great offer, leave, no need to wait for promotion
