I tend to find tech ppl are less well traveled than fmcg or consulting counterparts
While I agree that there's a depth of experience that comes from real time and immersion, having lived in four on three continents, and visited over 40 in total so far, I wouldn't discount how much you can get from a quick visit. You can get a surprising amount out of a weekend somewhere depending on how you do it. Not that any of this matters to the original question.

Does OP know most tech are immigrants???? I have been a citizen / permanent resident of three countries. I think that's more meaningful than how many vacation trips you took.
I’ve been citizen or PR for 4 but this poll isn’t about that. We can create another poll of how many people have lived. This is about travel aspirations. Do people aspire and want to spend money on experiencing other countries.
You don't really experience a country, in my opinion, until you spend at least six months there. It takes that to really get to know a few people.
