What? Getting job depends on several things. Everything is not in your hands.
Every company is different with time frames. Your question should specify how much time the person spent preparing, lining up interviews, negotiating, etc.
It doesn’t matter. The last thing someone want is to nit pick on job offers in this situation.
To be fair - I had a feeling my boss was going to try and throw me under a bus when we relaunched under our new branding - it was made obvious that she completely failed at her job as a facilities and operations manager and that a receptionist was actually running 4 offices... I got a head start looking for a new job - and went to an in person interview the same day I was laid off 😂😂😂
Depends on your industry. I've had headhunters trying to court me. At the same point some places have turnover so high they are nearly blacklisted
I can give my experience, since I was recently laid off. I’m a software engineer, so my input is probably only helpful for other SWE. The same day I was laid off, I started getting hit up by recruiters. I had multiple phone screens within a week. I had 5 on-sites within 3-4 weeks. I received 2 offers. I was happy with both, and am going to accept one. I was not being picky at all. I’ve got a wife and small kid, and my primary concern was finding new work well before my severance ran out. My goal was to at least get a bump in pay and role compared to my last job. By the time I was interviewing with ~5 companies at once, I stopped taking more calls from recruiters. I found it too overwhelming to handle more than that at a time. In retrospect, for my field at this particular time, I could have been much pickier in where I agreed to interview. I saw red flags all over the place at a couple different companies and still continued to interview with them. I was willing to take a lower TC than I personally felt I deserved. I’m extremely lucky in that I’ve ended up in an ideal situation for me, both in terms of TC and tier of company. My advice to other SWE in my situation: try to recognize how much demand there is for your role. Are you getting hit up constantly by recruiters? Are you able to get on-sites with every company you talk to? You’re likely in high demand, and interview pretty well. Don’t just take the first thing that comes along.

Such a terrible comment. I am currently seeking jobs and i had a week that was like full of phone interviews. Literally it works out like this: 1) recruiter contacts you. 2) you respond them back telling they can ring you anytime, but you mention the earlier, the better 3) they schedule a call for the next week. 4) approximately 5 days later you have your initial call. Recruiter says, will pass the resume to HM and then schedule an interview. 5) approximately end of that week/early next week you hear back. Time to schedule technical phone interview. Usually can be scheduled at least 3-4 working days after. Sometimes you're unlucky because HM also wants to screen you at this stage. 6) if you're lucky you finished the phone interview, now you wait 2-3 days to learn if you passed it. 7) congrats now it's time to schedule an on site. Earliest they can schedule is a week later. 8) you show up on site, cool. Now spend your entire day. Hope that you can hear it soon. 9) usually you hear them back about 3-5 working days. 10) now it's the offer and negotiation. I'll stop the timer here.
According to ^^ it takes approximately 28 days to go through all of this. Again this is a happy path where you only have 1 screening, 1 phone interview and 1 onsite interview
