Congrats. Keto works for some because it keeps them feeling Fuller longer (fats and proteins keep you satieted more than carbs). It's still caloric restriction, just you end up eating less because you feel fuller.
But keto has negative downsides: can't eat your favorite foods at all, all that fat is actually NOT good for your arteries, unless you're eating nothing but healthy fats. And without blood glucose to burn your brain has to rely on ketones instead. It hates running in this mode: you generally get brain fog and mental fatigue.
Yea I only did it because I was close to being obese at the time and wanted rapid weight loss. It’s a great short term diet, and now I’m on a plant based diet for the long term. Tested my blood towards the end of keto and my cholesterol and blood pressure were at healthy levels, but I also did a pretty clean keto (white meat + lotsa nuts, seeds, and oils). Different diets work for different people. Keto actually helped with my brain fog since I have ADHD. Fats provide a more constant stream of energy similar to low glycemic index foods, so I never had those carb crashes
Nope. I bought salads that had tuna and avocado. Have olive oil, flaxseed, chia seed, and hemp seed bags on my desk that I add to it. Comes out to around 1000 calories. Snacked on sprouted pumpkin/sunflower seeds and nuts if I ever got hungry.
Eat stuff which doesn't have much calories, like cucumber, spinach, etc. I think one reason genetic help is that people who are skinny tend to like such foods, I had my 23&me report and some of things were accurate like I like cucumber and sometimes for dinner I will just have cucumber with some protein because I don't feel like eating.
I tend to lose weight, if I am not going to gym, not taking my protein shake and boiled eggs and generally not particular about my diet. Nowdays not able to do any of these things due to Leetcode and my weight is reduced to 63Kg. I am going to stop interviewing end of this month and will take a break and focus on my body. It's too much effort man this LC.
