Have an interview loop coming up. I've read online that they Amazon wants to hear different stories for different leadership principles. Is that true? How many stories should I prepare? Would 6-7 be ok? PS: Don't have a lot of work experience so it's difficult for me to come up with multiple stories on the same LP ☹️
three fiddy
three fiddy (n.) \treé fiddy\ Definition: The amount FB stock declines daily. Used in a sentence: Damn man, FB was hacked twice last week... Nah son, it was hacked about three fiddy!
Yeah, 6 should be enough. I got through and got an offer with about 5. What I recommend though is to create a matrix with leadership principles on one axis and stories on the other. Then fill out intersections. Then see the blanks, adjust your stories a little to ingest the missing ones. I had one brilliant story that covered all 14 to some extent.
Can you please tell me a story?
So I was thinking similar things. Where one of my stories cover 2-3 principles.. But does it not make the Intevriew more difficult? I'm interviewing for a bie.. And it looks like most of the 6 hours will be dedicated to LP.. Dont know how I can story tell for 4 hours.. Considering I haven't Done those many long term projects
Don’t forget the STAR method when responding to LP questions
Do they care a lot about the tiny details of actual story. Isn't it likely that one might have forgotten some information if the event might have happened long back.
It is likely, of course. They know how to handle that, it’s okay.
I have the same question. Most of my relevant work experience was 3-4 years ago.. Now I'm a bit hazy on why I did the things the way I did.. What would be a nice way to turn down a question if you don't remember stuff.?
To be honest, a nice way would be to prepare upfront, pick the stories, recall the details, and write them up.
Thanks for advice.. One more question.. In my current job. I did very high impact projects saving $$ and those stories demonstrate LP.. However all of them were short and not super technical (nature of business).,in my prior work ex I did some low impact but highly technical projects.. But only 2-3 long term projects.. Will it be okay to focus on the high impact but 'easy' projects
Figure out which ones you can relate to and strongly believe you’re awesome at (3-4) and one-two that you feel you keep missing on because of some natural tendencies or acquired behavior due to practices or processes at your current employer. Then have a bunch of examples supporting the formers and demonstrating your self awareness on the latters.
