I'm getting ready to switch to a more technically oriented team such as AWS (and maybe Alexa AI team) in the Bay Area. Does anyone know what level of preparation I need for an L4 Software Engineer position? I used leetcode long time ago. Now I see a section "Top Questions from Amazon". Should I go through that and then apply when I complete it? Or is there a different approach I should take? Any suggestions are welcome!
AWS is leetcode easy to medium in my experience. Curious to hear about Alexa team
I heard that the Alexa team is tougher to get into and their WLB can be a bit crappy if you let them but depending on manager.
Hugely team dependent. If you’re on front end for the console, sure. If you’re founding distributed systems work for one of the newer services, probably not
How long have you been with Amazon? Planning to get promoted in current team and moving to new team?
Was working simultaneously on my promo doc and career path change but my manager left. My new manager said that everything resets and starts from zero. Anyway, that helped me reconsider and focusing all my efforts towards career change. My other 2 teammates are also reconsidering, one leaving the company and the other switching orgs.
What a horrible policy

Google New Grad fired, can’t find job
Depending on the team the bar could be really high. I passed the interview for Google but not AWS AI.
So, did Amazon offer you a position in a different team from the one you originally interviewed with? Or are you interviewing now? I’m not sure if I should “practice” interviewing before trying a new team within Amazon.
I’m not at Amazon right now. The recruiter ghosted me after the onsite. I never imagined it possible to pass Google and not Amazon, based on the hiring bar at my previous org.
