I have friends who interned at FB and got to skip hackerranks and got dead-easy phone screen questions (sometimes skip to onsite directly) from the others. I’m guessing it’s similar for people at Google - what other secret perks do you get? I’m at Amazon and all I’ve experienced is a hard-ish time getting interviews.
I think it just depends on your references and experience. Like if you’ve been at google for a month and tried to interview at Facebook it probably wouldn’t be as easy as a veteran with 15 years experience at google. Being at most high up companies will look good for you though.
What you said is true but the differences in treatment probably stop all together after that. If the company you're interviewing at is somewhat competent they won't care if you're from big x if you can't pass their onsite.
I agree. I think having the big companies will help you get that initial interview, but after that it’s up to you to prove yourself.
I’m just sad here because I couldn’t even pass my Google phone round...and am probably gonna fail my FB phone round tomorrow.
Other folks are right. I’ve worked at Apple, Facebook, and Google. It looks great on paper and guarantees an interview at, I’d say, any company—but that interview is entirely dependent on how I sell myself.
Dude you post this all day on cscq, I've noticed like 3 of your Reddit accounts by now. Chill the fuck out
Lmao there are like five people on that sub that match this description.
Sure thing, your story is literally the same everytime. "I work at amazon, I failed the phone screen with google/fb, my iq isn't high enough"
Lol
Lol what. No
I skipped FB's phone screens when I was at Amazon. Although, I had good references from a few folks there.
