How much better are you treated if you’re part of the Big2?

I have friends who interned at FB and got to skip hackerranks and got dead-easy phone screen questions (sometimes skip to onsite directly) from the others. I’m guessing it’s similar for people at Google - what other secret perks do you get?

I’m at Amazon and all I’ve experienced is a hard-ish time getting interviews.

What you said is true but the differences in treatment probably stop all together after that.

If the company you're interviewing at is somewhat competent they won't care if you're from big x if you can't pass their onsite.

Most of people can crack it if good enough to clear Amazon interview. It is more about who was the interviewer and how you practiced. Someone who passed G, FB, Netflix can very well fail for Amazon. It is random unless you have other serious issues in communication, attitude or the way you practice the coding questions. I doubt IQ plays a role as long as yours is over like 110 or top 30%.

Like I said two options. If it takes you a year of studying or two weeks that isn't reason to sulk. You have a six figure job don't act so entitled.

Yeah but i don’t have a six figure job that makes people impressed yet. I mean I thought I would, but then nobody was impressed :/

Also my six figures are way lower than yours. I’m honestly just giving up. There’s no point.

Honestly? Good. Plenty of kids dying for a chance that wouldn't need validation from others for them to perform.

You’re right. Ending it is the only solution. Clearly I’ll be “average” for life.

Other folks are right. I’ve worked at Apple, Facebook, and Google. It looks great on paper and guarantees an interview at, I’d say, any company—but that interview is entirely dependent on how I sell myself.

I think it just depends on your references and experience. Like if you’ve been at google for a month and tried to interview at Facebook it probably wouldn’t be as easy as a veteran with 15 years experience at google.

Being at most high up companies will look good for you though.

I skipped FB's phone screens when I was at Amazon. Although, I had good references from a few folks there.
