How much coding involved in MSFT AZURE?

I recently got an offer from Microsoft Azure, Network team, Redmond. The position is SDE2 (L61). I heard from few folks that there’s not much coding involved and it’s mostly handling operational issues. Mine is a software background and I’m interested in coding. Approximately how much coding is involved in this specific position?
Appreciate any info.

No direct experience with that team myself but as an observer they are doing some interesting work. And yes, there will be code.

SWAN team has some real ML related projects of manipulating RSVP TE tunnels in Core network based on congestion. Very interesting, but worst manager and skips. All good engineers left and many are on their way out coz bad middle layer incompetent mgmt

If you are getting a SDE position, you would be writing code.

Is this an SRE role (site reliability engineer)? I think Azure calls it Customer Experience. It’s still an SDE title. I screened for this role but it was not a fit, SRE sounds horrible to me after working at Amazon.
