Whats the TC of a doctor in the Bay Area? I mean general physicians/ family doctors/ internal medicine. Not the surgery-doing type doctors.
Check Medscape. It works the other way. Doctors in Remote places make more than cities. CA pays lower in general in most cases when comparing absolute dollars and always when adjusted for CoL and taxes.

My friend makes 700k
Better overall pay is in the rural towns. Not enough doctors. Low cost of living. Very high pay.
Do all doctors make like 500k a year? Even a general physician? Also there is a cost associated with it and the number of years of practice to put in leading to a much delayed income start at the age of probably 30? Whereas a Software Engineer can start earning as early as 20 age. Thoughts?
Just like in Tech they have a wide range depending on the type of employment, specialty and earning sources. A Primary Care Physician in the Bay Area can make as low as $120K when starting out. Check Medscapeâs Annual Compensation report if you want to learn more. A lot of them are regretting not jumping into Tech.
A primary care physician could make 80k and a dermatologist 500k. Thatâs why primary care residencies go unfilled and are filled with foreign trained doctors

Not true at all.. thereâs a demand and supply rule just as everywhere else. A sunshine tax exists. Mountains and oceans and good weather always increase demand. Hospitals are run like cut throat businesses these days. You can make much more working somewhere remotely in Texas
