Went down in the portfolio by 52%. Didn’t sell so didn’t lose it. But then I learnt Value Investing.
I still don’t think you learnt anything. Even if you did sell, you still lost 52% if it doesn’t go back up.
It went up and made 40% on it but took time. I learnt not to chase high flying stock. Do due diligence while buying any company share as if you’re buying home.
Bought investment condo for $500k in 2005, went down $250k. I held on to it since my downpayment was $130k. Now condo is worth $800k.
How is this a bad investment if you held on to it?

Sounds like you missed the opportunity to make money. You didn’t lose money. I can’t say I lost money *not* buying Bitcoin in 2008
Lost over 100k in crypto. I learned to spend more time understanding the core business.
The core business of crypto is nimble trading. You make or lose money as a trader as there is no underlying intrinsic value.
That’s not what “core business” means
